We recently brought you the news that Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is all set to release its very own drone. The announcement is expected to be live streamed on Wednesday 25th, but the company has just released a sneak peak of what its offering to the market will look like.
From what we can see, it looks pretty similar to plenty of quadcopters out there already, so perhaps we shouldn’t expect anything ground-breaking on the hardware side of things. Having said that, it does appear to have an underslung spherical camera, which could promise a similar technology to GoPro’s most recent devices. This could allow for videos to be watched back from several different perspectives, as in theory, the camera can point and record in many directions at once. This tech is widely regarded to be incorporated into GoPro’s delayed Karma drone, so it’ll be interesting if Xiaomi gets there first later this week.
Previous leaks suggest that the drone from Xiaomi will be controlled via an app and records 4K video – that’s pretty much all we know so far!
Anyway, here are your twelve seconds of tease…
