DeTect Reorganizes into Three Global Regions to Support Growth

March 30, 2026 by Miriam McNabb Leave a Comment

New leadership structure aims to strengthen global operations and customer support

DeTect, Inc. has announced a new organizational structure designed to support its continued growth and global expansion. The company will now operate across three regional divisions, aligning leadership and resources with its international footprint.

The reorganization reflects more than two decades of steady expansion and positions the company for further development in key global markets.

New Global Structure

According to the announcement, DeTect, Inc. will operate through three regional offices:

  • DeTect Americas, covering North, Central, and South America
  • DeTect EMEA, covering Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
  • DeTect Asia-Pacific, covering the Pacific Rim, Asia, and Australia

The company said this structure will allow it to better serve customers worldwide while maintaining consistent service quality.

The company’s founder, Gary Andrews, emphasized the long-term strategy behind the move. “DeTect has maintained profitability and grown steadily over the last 23 years and this new organization structure will support even greater growth over the next decade and beyond while maintaining the high level of service and support our customers have received.”

Leadership Appointments

As part of the restructuring, DeTect promoted several senior leaders to oversee regional and global operations.

  • Jesse M. Lewis will serve as President of DeTect Americas
  • Edward ‘Zak’ Zakrajsek will serve as President of DeTect EMEA
  • Gary W. Andrews will continue as CEO and CFO and act as President of DeTect Asia-Pacific

James MacFarlane will remain General Manager of DeTect Canada.

The company also announced additional executive promotions to support global operations and product development:

  • Craig C. Rainey, Executive Vice President, Global Production and Operations
  • Robert E. Lewis, Vice President, Global Business Development

Product and market leaders have also been elevated to Vice President roles:

  • Michael H. Bierman, VP – Aviation Safety Systems
  • Dylan L. Ruppel, VP – BVLOS/ASR Systems
  • Andreas Smith, VP – Offshore Wind
  • Ryan C. Walsh, VP – C-UAS Systems

These appointments reflect the company’s focus on scaling both operational capacity and specialized expertise across sectors.

Supporting a Growing Global Footprint

DeTect operates as a fully integrated radar and remote sensing company, with research, engineering, and manufacturing facilities in Florida, Canada, and Poland. The company also maintains offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Its product portfolio includes systems for aviation safety, environmental monitoring, and counter-UAS applications. The company’s MERLIN™ Bird Detection Radar is widely used for managing bird strike risks and supporting environmental protection efforts. Other offerings include HARRIER™ security radars and DroneWatcher™ counter-UAS systems.

Since 2003, DeTect has delivered more than 1,100 systems worldwide, serving customers across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

Positioning for the Next Phase of Growth

The new regional structure comes as demand grows for advanced radar and detection systems across aviation, energy, and security sectors. In particular, increased focus on BVLOS operations and counter-UAS technologies has expanded the need for integrated sensing and monitoring solutions.

By aligning leadership with regional markets, DeTect aims to improve responsiveness and strengthen customer relationships. The company also signals continued investment in product development and global service capabilities.

As the drone and aviation ecosystems evolve, companies like DeTect are adapting their structures to match a more distributed and fast-moving market. This reorganization represents a step toward scaling operations while maintaining the service standards that have supported its growth to date.
