Everdrone Raises SEK 36 Million to Expand Drone-Based Emergency Healthcare Services

March 19, 2026 by Miriam McNabb Leave a Comment

Funding supports commercialization and expansion of drone-delivered medical response systems across Europe

Everdrone has raised SEK 36 million in a new funding round as it moves further into the commercial phase of its drone-based emergency healthcare services. The company plans to use the funding to validate its methodology, strengthen system integration, and expand its technology platform for additional services.

Everdrone operates what it describes as the world’s first operational drone service integrated into the emergency response chain for cardiac arrest. The service is active in the Västra Götaland Region in Sweden.

“This funding gives us stronger conditions to continue building the company and expanding our services into more markets across Europe”, says Mats Sällström, CEO of Everdrone.

Expanding Drone Support in Emergency Response

Everdrone develops autonomous drone systems designed for time-critical medical interventions. Its drones deliver defibrillators and other emergency equipment while ambulances are still en route.

“Our autonomous drones are integrated into the emergency response chain and dispatched in parallel with ambulances. We are seeing growing interest in these types of solutions within emergency healthcare and other rescue services”, says Mats Sällström.

The company has worked closely with healthcare providers since its founding. It has conducted operational flights in emergency healthcare scenarios since 2020. In addition to Västra Götaland, its services have been procured by Region Stockholm and the Normandy Region in France.

“Interest in drone-based solutions in emergency healthcare is increasing as regions look for new ways to reduce response times and improve coverage in both urban and rural areas”, says Mats Sällström.

Investment Supports Commercial Growth

The funding round was led by investment firm Sciety. The firm cited Everdrone’s technology and its clear use case in emergency healthcare as key factors in its decision.

“Everdrone addresses a clear and well-documented need in emergency healthcare and has already established partnerships with several regions in Sweden and France. As a long-term capital partner, we look forward to supporting Everdrone in its continued commercialization”, says Andreas Lindblom, Managing Partner at Sciety.

Everdrone leadership also emphasized the strategic value of the partnership beyond capital.

“Sciety contributes not only capital but also industry expertise, the right network, and increased visibility, making them a valuable partner in the company’s continued development”, says Mats Sällström, CEO of Everdrone.

A Growing Role for Drones in Healthcare

The use of drones in emergency healthcare continues to gain attention across Europe. Public agencies and healthcare providers are exploring new ways to reduce response times, especially in cases such as cardiac arrest where minutes can determine outcomes.

Everdrone’s model focuses on integrating drone operations directly into existing emergency response systems. By dispatching drones alongside ambulances, the company aims to provide faster access to life-saving equipment before first responders arrive.

The new funding positions Everdrone to expand its footprint and further develop its platform as demand for drone-enabled healthcare services grows.
