Insta360 Launches Antigravity: A New Brand for 360-Degree Aerial Capture

July 28, 2025 by Miriam McNabb Leave a Comment

Lightweight drone with immersive 8K video aims to broaden access to drone-based storytelling

A New Entry in the Consumer Drone Market

Insta360, a China-based manufacturer known for its 360-degree action cameras, has announced the launch of Antigravity, a new consumer drone brand. Developed in collaboration with third-party partners, Antigravity introduces what the company describes as a new category of drone—combining immersive 360 capture with a compact, lightweight design.

The first Antigravity drone, expected to launch in August 2025, weighs under 249 grams and offers 8K resolution. The company says its focus is on enabling creative, intuitive flight experiences for a wide range of users, including content creators, travelers, and families.

A Focus on 360 Immersive Flight

At the core of Antigravity’s concept is “360 immersive flight,” which emphasizes ease of use and expressive storytelling over complex technical features. The brand aims to offer drones that are accessible to users with limited experience, removing some of the barriers often associated with drone operation.

“Today, most drones are tools. With Antigravity, we’re aiming higher,” said BC Nie, Head of Marketing at Antigravity. “While others compete on specs, we’ve flipped the script, reimagining what a drone should be able to do. The result is something that empowers real emotion and enables experiences like freedom, creativity, and discovery for everyone.”

Antigravity products are designed to function without the need for detailed pre-flight checklists or specialized training. The goal is to provide an intuitive flying experience that appeals to both beginners and experienced users alike.

Community Collaboration and Feedback

Antigravity is incorporating a community-driven approach to product development. Through its Antigravity Hub, users are invited to submit ideas and feedback that may influence future product features. Contributions that lead to new developments may receive recognition and rewards.

This collaborative model is part of the company’s effort to ensure its products align closely with the interests and preferences of its user base.

Product Launch Timing and Safety Features

Antigravity’s launch comes at a time when hardware and software capabilities have advanced to meet changing user expectations. The company says it has spent several years refining the technology and user experience ahead of release.

The drone will include safety features such as payload detection, designed to prevent unauthorized modifications and support responsible use.

More to Come

Antigravity’s first drone will be officially unveiled in August 2025. Additional information and updates are available at www.antigravity.tech, where users can also sign up for the brand’s newsletter.
