An MOOC is a Massive Open Online Course – a new way of educating communities on the subjects they really want to know. Now, world leading aviation university Embry Riddle is offering an MOOC for public safety stakeholders.
The course is free of charge and will be held from November 18-December 1. From the website:
This two-week MOOC covers key concepts related to small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) as applied to the Public Safety (PS) sector (Law Enforcement, Fire, Search, and Rescue), including basic types, characteristics, applications, and current and future uses.
It is designed for users primarily with public safety interests, and beneficial to interests in commercial, private/recreational, and public and educational sUAS applications. Specific importance is placed on the safety of flight within the National Airspace System (NAS), including where to fly and where to find flight planning tools.
