Nicolia Wiles of GDU Discusses the O2 Compact 4K Drone

The Roswell Test Flight Crew met with several companies while attending Interdrone in Las Vegas last week. In this episode, Patrick Sherman of the Roswell Flight Test Crew hears from Nicolia Wiles of the Global Drone Union (GDU) about the company’s latest product, announced at InterDrone 2017: the O2. A compact, 4K drone aerial video drone with a three-axis gimbal, the O2 features limbs that slide inside the body of the aircraft for transportation and storage, protecting the motors and propellers. In addition, the drone’s controller snaps into place beneath the drone when not in use, creating an extremely portable package that is ready to fly in seconds. It features binocular forward-facing collision avoidance sensors, as well as optical flow and ultrasonic sensors on the underside of the aircraft. The pilot’s smartphone, running either the Android or iOS operating system, provides telemetry and the video downlink. DroneLife recently covered the release of the product. You can find that coverage here.
