Atlas Dynamics, a developer of drone-based solutions for professional users, is introducing two products this week at InterDrone 2017: the new Atlas NEST smart protective charging station and their newest UAV, the Atlas Blue-J.
The Atlas NEST
The Atlas NEST is a landing, protective charging station that allows for BVLOS operation, extended flight range and constant drone readiness in remote locations. When the Atlas Pro requires new batteries to extend its flight time for missions in remote locations, it can autonomously land in a NEST charging station where a robotic arm changes the drone’s batteries, allowing the Atlas Pro to continue flying to mission completion.
“NEST is not simply a docking station. It is a strategic component of our company’s vision for fully autonomous drone missions,” explained Guy Cherni, CMO of Atlas Dynamics. “The ultimate goal of NEST, combined with our autonomous mission OS, is to make a highly sophisticated technology an accessible tool for professionals in every industry. Of course, the automation NEST provides is a key factor in achieving this accessibility.”
The Atlas NEST can be stationary or motorized functions as part of the total drone platform solution the company is delivering to the professional market. Designed to enable constant drone readiness and short time to target, Atlas will demonstrate how NEST will enhance the performance capabilities of the recently launched Atlas Pro drone platform at InterDrone in Las Vegas, September 6-8 from Booth 800.
The Atlas Blue-J
In a release the company states that the Blue-J features a 3.5-meter wing span, four to six hours of flight time and a 150-kilometer operational range. It is specifically designed for large-scale security and inspection missions. The fixed wing UAV can be operated in autonomous and semi-autonomous modes, including takeoff and landing. Made of carbon fiber, the Atlas Blue-J is lightweight (11kg) and can carry up to a nine-kilogram payload.
“The efficiency of our drones speaks directly to our company’s DNA: technological excellence and a passion to simplify complex aerospace technologies for mass adoption,” said Ivan Tolchinsky, CEO of Atlas Dynamics. “While we specialize in drones, we are, at our core, an aerospace company. We plan to continue to develop and bring to market our cutting-edge products, such as the Atlas Blue-J, to develop these advanced technologies into accessible every day tools for professionals around the world.”
Atlas’ fixed wing UAV is designed with a focus on future homeland security needs. It is suitable for high speed, high altitude missions, with long target duration capabilities and a low radar footprint. Atlas will present the Atlas Blue-J, alongside the recently announced Atlas Pro drone platform and the NEST smart docking station at InterDrone in Las Vegas, September 6-8 from Booth 800.
