The Drone Racing League (DRL) has announced FOX Sports Asia as a new broadcast distribution partner for the 2017 Season. The deal will bring high-speed drone competition to millions of households in Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, Mongolia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia, starting September 7, 2017. DRL programming will be broadcasted on Channel FM31.
“As the sport of drone racing continues to grow internationally, we are looking forward to working with our new partner, FOX Sports Asia, to introduce drone racing to millions of new fans in Asia,” says DRL CEO and Founder Nicholas Horbaczewski.
This is DRL’s first broadcast expansion into Asia since launching in January 2016. Existing broadcast partners include ESPN, Sky Sports, ProSiebenSat.1, Disney XD and OSN. DRL will now reach millions of viewers in more than 87 countries across the globe. The 2017 season follows 16 professional pilots competing at six races in the US, Germany and the Drone Racing World Championship in London. Venues include NFL stadiums, a royal palace and abandoned buildings. The races feature the DRL Racer3, a custom built FPV (first person view) drone capable of racing the world’s most insane, three dimensional race courses at speeds more than 90 MPH.
