Africa is one of the fastest growing markets for the commercial drone industry, and the Drones Africa Summit, held this fall, highlights drone innovation and applications across the continent. Drone companies in the safety and security, inspection services, insurance, and wildlife management sectors will discuss new applications and technologies. Regulators will discuss the development of Africa’s favorable regulatory environment.
With opportunities for networking, education, and sponsorship the new summit offers global companies a chance to market their companies to a wide audience of customers. “Whether you’re an Investment Promotion Agency, large corporation, SME or an innovative startup, we can help you showcase your product…It’s all about getting your name in front of the right people,” says the Summit. Attendees will learn about risk management in drone projects and drone technology on every worksite – from movie sets to railway development.
Africa has proven a robust and growing market for the industry. Rwanda has implemented one of the first widespread programs of medical drone delivery; drones are regularly used for applications in mining, agriculture, wildlife and heavy industry – and increasingly used in smaller businesses.
“With the advent of technological innovations, Africa is rising up to the occasion and embracing social media and drone technology for the development of her people and in support of emerging entrepreneurs for job creation and eradication of poverty,” says Sam Ncube of Drones Africa Summit. “As a result, Africa is fast becoming a hotspot for investors who need a new platform for their services and products. Boosted by her diversity, Africa is proving that it is a profitable market.”
DRONELIFE is pleased to announce that contributing editor Miriam McNabb will present a session titled “The Realities of Drone Delivery” at the conference, which will take place September 20-22 in Johannesburg.
