Apple rumored to buy DJI

April 1, 2017.  DroneLife has just learned that Apple computer, the maker of the popular iphone,  tablet, computer, and personal services has plans to purchase Chinese drone manufacturer,  DJI for an undisclosed amount of cash and stock.

DroneLife has learned the consumer products giant has been mulling an entry into the  drone space for quite some time having seen the success of consumer products such as GoPro has had in  entering the drone space.  They view this as a strategic entry that will allow them to dominate the space for years to come.

While no announcement and terms have been announced, nor is any  planned, we were able to learn about it from a hybrid Drone/Phone/tablet device that was found in a rest room in California close to the new Apple headquarters.  It appears that the device can fly,  make phone calls, play games, and stream music at the same time.

The timing seems to be advantageous as there are rumors that Amazon, Pizza Hut, and Tesla has all been mulling bids for the drone giant.  Spokesperson’s for the organizations were not available for comment at the time of publication of this story nor are they expected to in the future.

Unnamed spokesman noted the strange date of the announcement and wondered if the fact that this was announced on April fools day some impacted the merits of the story.  DroneLife continues to investigate.  Happy April  Fools day from all of us at DroneLife.com.
