Okay, so you may have noticed this post is categorized as part of DRONELIFE’s “Before Your Buy” section. And, based on the title of the post, you can probably surmise the content this is clearly going to present post-drone-purchase content. Our rationale for putting it in this section: we want you to know that there are great web resources to quickly learn to fly and photograph with your DJI quadcopter.
Although good advice for all drone flyers, these videos are specific to the DJI Phantom 2 Vision and Phantom 2 Vision+.

There isn’t one video which provides the complete step-by-step guide to using your new Phantom 2 Vision. There are many and each provides a piece of the puzzle. So we’ve tried to stitch together the best of breed videos necessary for flight and photography success. We’ve broken this into four sections.
1. Set Up – From unpacking to flight preparation
2. Flying your Phantom
3. Using the iPhone and Android Camera Application
4. Best Practices when Photographing
So here we go:
1. Set Up – From unpacking to flight preparation
DJI has created their own “Preparing to Fly” video which leads you through every step to get started once the UPS truck stops at your door. It is a well done step-by-step presentation of the unpacking and set-up of your new drone.
2. Flying your Phantom
Jake Lahmann’s DJI Phantom 2 Vision The basics of Flying, Recording & Sharing is a well staged, carefully scripted tutorial for your first flight. The beginning may overlap a bit with the DJI set-up video, but the repetition is useful for the first time flyer.
3. Using the iPhone and Android Camera Application
The IrixGuy’s Adventure Channel walks you through the use of DJI smartphone application. This is a must watch. Although the application is powerful, the video is needed to understand all of the features.
4. Best Practices when Photographing
PhotoCAFE’s How to fly and shoot with the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ has some great suggestions on video collection and the best flying techniques to use when recording. Skip to minute 3:30 in the video to begin the section on flying and photography.
So there you go! Safe and successful flying and recording!
