Is your week droning on? Fear not! To get over the end-of-the-week-slump, check out these videos of cool ways people are using UAS all over the world.
1) Philip Bloom is a professional filmmaker based in London. This video of Koh Yao Noi island in Thailand is beautifully shot and a testament to Bloom’s talent. The video is only half of the story though; the really interesting part is the detailed blog post Bloom wrote explaining the entire process of shooting a video like this; from pre-flight preparations to posting on Vimeo. You can check that out here.

2) A drone filming a fraternity party. As a concept, this sent shivers down my spine. Someone somewhere said “Lets get a drone in the sky to capture every angle of the awesomeness that is sure to ensue at this party and post it online! What could go wrong?” *shudder*
…In practice though, this is less a party and more a bunch of college kids imitating cattle.
3) This last one is kind of dumb, but what kid hasn’t wished he could actually parachute his action figures into the sandbox from the sky?

Thank you!
Just a slight correction. I am not a professional aerial photographer. I am a professional filmmaker but very much an amateur flyer! This is all still very new to me and it’s all just for fun!
