Cyberhawk Receives FAA Waiver for Expanded U.S. Drone Operations

Nationwide BVLOS Waiver Enables More Efficient and Safer Inspections for Critical Infrastructure

Cyberhawk has received a significant nationwide Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) waiver from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), allowing the company to operate drones without the need for a visual observer. This waiver is set to expand Cyberhawk’s capabilities in drone-based inspection, survey services, and visual data management across the United States.

Expanded Operations and Efficiency

The FAA’s BVLOS waiver grants Cyberhawk the ability to conduct drone operations beyond the pilot’s visual range. This new flexibility will enable the company to undertake more complex missions without the constraints of maintaining visual contact. As a result, Cyberhawk can perform longer inspections and surveys, reducing both operational time and costs.

According to Scott Lashmit, Cyberhawk’s U.S. Aviation Manager, “With the nationwide BVLOS waiver, we can potentially more than double the amount of surveyed assets collected in a day – saving our customers valuable time and costs.” The ability to gather actionable data and images quickly is crucial for customers who need to make informed decisions regarding the safety and integrity of critical infrastructure.

Enhancing Safety and Expanding Coverage

The waiver also brings safety benefits by reducing the need for ground personnel and minimizing exposure to hazardous environments. This is particularly important for industries such as utilities, oil and gas, and capital projects, where Cyberhawk’s drone inspections play a crucial role in maintaining infrastructure.

With the BVLOS waiver, Cyberhawk can now offer its services over larger areas and in more remote locations. This expanded coverage ensures that critical infrastructure can be monitored and maintained more effectively, supporting the reliability of essential services.

Commitment to Innovation

Cyberhawk’s approach to drone operations and data analytics continues to evolve with the new capabilities provided by the BVLOS waiver. The company remains dedicated to delivering high-precision aerial inspections and data solutions that help customers optimize asset performance.

“We are very pleased to receive this nationwide BVLOS waiver from the FAA,” said Phil Buchan, Chief Operating Officer of Cyberhawk. “This achievement underscores our commitment to innovation, safety, and excellence in the drone industry. With this authorization, we are poised to deliver our customers even greater value and scalability by providing unparalleled inspection, survey, and data solutions that drive efficiency and enhance safety.”
