Enhanced BVLOS Capabilities for Lockheed Martin’s Indago 4

In a recent development, Elsight has successfully integrated its Halo connectivity platform with Lockheed Martin’s Indago 4 Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS), enabling the drone to complete its first beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) flight. This strategic enhancement significantly broadens the Indago 4’s capabilities, particularly in applications such as disaster response, surveillance, and remote inspections.

Elsight’s Halo system is designed to ensure uninterrupted connectivity in diverse and challenging environments by aggregating multiple IP links. These include public and private cellular networks, satellite communications, and software-defined radio (SDR), thereby enhancing the UAS’s operational reliability and data transmission efficacy to command centers.

The integration with Halo improves the Indago 4’s ability to maintain robust communication links over various terrains and obstacles, ensuring continuous and reliable data flow, including real-time video feeds and critical telemetry data.

Roee Kashi, Co-founder and CTO of Elsight, commented on the integration’s impact, stating, “We designed the Halo to provide real-time situational awareness in difficult defense and public safety scenarios. Ultimately, field commanders need to make strategic decisions at any moment and should have the widest ‘lens’ possible with all the critical information.
