At the Xponential 2024 expo, TEKEVER, a European provider of unmanned aerial systems, introduced the ARX, a new drone that features the ability to deploy and coordinate a swarm of smaller drones. This function operates from a primary ‘mother’ drone, marking a first in their product line. The ARX is expected to make its commercial debut in 2025.
The ARX drone is designed with a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 600kg and incorporates advanced AI and machine learning technologies. It also features satellite communication (SATCOM), mesh connectivity, and is equipped to operate in GPS-denied environments. This combination of long-range endurance and high-tech capabilities positions the ARX to impact surveillance and life-saving operations across both civilian and military sectors.
The drone’s modular payload system allows for the integration of various sensors and cargo options, facilitating a range of missions from environmental monitoring to military surveillance. It supports an array of sensor technologies, including electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR), multispectral/hyperspectral (MS/HS), Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR), and others, tailored to provide detailed data from a distance.
Additionally, the ARX introduces a Digital Twin technology—a digital model that mirrors the physical drone for simulation, testing, and maintenance purposes. This feature aims to streamline operator training and system integration.
Ricardo Mendes, CEO of TEKEVER, commented on the launch, stating, “We’re thrilled to announce the ARX, which is one of the world’s most advanced drones in its class. It marks a significant step forward for TEKEVER. It is our first drone to include swarm capabilities, which enables it to carry out complex missions, revolutionizing surveillance, and search & rescue operations in both the civilian and military worlds.”
TEKEVER is currently showcasing the ARX at their booth at Xponential 2024, where they are also conducting live mission demonstrations.
