Latvian drone software and hardware developer FIXAR has announced its sponsorship of Latvia’s team for the 2023 FAI World Championships for Space Models. Held from July 1st to 8th in Austin, Texas, the event will see teams from 19 different countries competing in the construction of lightweight rockets designed for specific flight durations, ranging by various craft categories.
The sponsorship will support FIXAR staff members and space modeling enthusiasts Karina Limora and Maris Juris Brakovskis (a winner in the 2016 Championships). FIXAR has expressed eagerness to support these talented individuals as they showcase their skills on the international stage while representing Latvia.
“We are delighted to sponsor the Latvian space modelling team at the 2023 FAI World Championships for Space Models,” said FIXAR co-founder Yulia Druzhnikova. “At FIXAR, we support the development of talent and interest in the aerospace industry. We are excited to see Karina Limora and Maris Juris Brakovskis represent Latvia and demonstrate their skills on the global stage. We wish them all the best and look forward to their remarkable achievements.”
The event serves as an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their technical expertise, compete against their peers, and promote international cooperation within the space modeling field for both personal and industry development.
The 2023 FAI World Championships is organized by the National Association of Rocketry alongside the Academy of Model Aeronautics, sanctioned by the Fédératio Aéronautique Internationale.
