UAM integrated control and mobility specialist PABLO AIR has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with U.S. drone delivery company 42air, a subsidiary of autonomous driving technology company 42dot and an affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group. The signing took place on June 13th at PABLO AIR’s Songdo, Korea headquarters.
Over the last three years, 42air has delivered goods to ships off the coast of New Orleans, employing an integrated UAV delivery system utilizing its Gadget smart delivery winch. The delivery system autonomously and accurately places goods at the target destination through the use of cables.
Having recently opened its first drone delivery center in Korea, PABLO AIR provides systematic drone delivery solutions through its “Olivery” and “Smart Mobility Integrated Control System.” Last year in the U.S., the company successfully demonstrated drone delivery in a restricted airspace area with the New York Aviation Promotion Agency (NUAIR). PABLO AIR is currently involved in a NASA-led urban flight stability project.
Various government demonstration projects have been held in Korea for the purpose of gathering drone delivery data and guaranteeing stability. Through their new business agreement, PABLO AIR and 42air intend to leverage their capabilities and resources to integrate products and services, collaborating on both domestic and international drone delivery operations. PABLO AIR will equip its delivery aircraft with 42air’s Gadget devices, as well as utilize specialized software for their control.
“Both companies recognize the significant impact that strategically utilizing drones will have on future logistics delivery,” said PABLO AIR CEO Kim Young-Joon. “By combining 42air’s technology and infrastructure, we aim to lead the drone delivery industry and provide more practical and cost-effective drone delivery services.”
“We hope to collaborate with PABLO AIR not only in entering local government drone delivery projects but also in expanding delivery services that connect the Incheon and Busan seaways and major ports in Asia, including Singapore,” said Henk Goosen, CEO of 42air.
This past March, PABLO AIR appointed “Daishin Securities” as its lead underwriter with the goal of listing on KOSDAQ, a technology-focused stock market, in the second half of 2024. The company is currently conducting pre-IPO investments to secure equity prior to its public listing.
