Headed to the Energy Drone and Robotics Summit Next Week? Check This Out.

Headed to the Energy Drone and Robotics Summit in Houston next week?  It’s a big show with lots to see.  Here are just some of the events we’re looking forward to – and a list of great tech to visit on the floor.  Please support our friends and sponsors by learning more about the innovative solutions they have to offer!

Monday, June 12

The Keynote We Don’t Want to Miss:  This year, Japanese drone manufacturers ACSL entered the US market with their NDAA-compliant Soten drone.  Next week, ACSL CTO Chris Raabe will present a keynote on a topic critical to stakeholders throughout the drone ecosystem. The Need for a Global Strategy to Decrease Drone Industry Fragility will be presented Monday, June 12 at 12:30 pm in the Waterway 4 location.

From the show agenda:

To fulfill the global demand for autonomous tech while mitigating geopolitical and supply chain challenges, the drone and robotics industry needs to embrace a global strategy for innovation and mass production.

All around the world,  we see an increasing need for autonomous technologies, but only a few countries are well positioned to fulfill that demand from a standpoint of both innovation and mass production. We will analyze a handful of markets and the unique forces driving or hindering drone and robotics adoption. We will also do a deep dive into the specific market conditions of Japan, which has seen a unique convergence of factors as the driving force for autonomous technology development. Japan has a tremendous wealth of manufacturing expertise, a plethora of underutilized suppliers, and a weakening currency that makes it increasingly well-positioned to be a global exporter of autonomous technology.

The Panel on Cybersecurity:

DRONELIFE Editor Miriam McNabb will moderate a panel including Teledyne FLIR’s Kelly Brodbeck, law enforcement officer in aerial operations AJ Smith, and Drew Smith of Lone Star Drones.  Join them as they take on one of the most important and challenging topics that the drone industry faces today: cybersecurity. Drone Security Without Sacrifice: How can you Guarantee Data Security in your Drone Program? will be presented on Monday, July 12 at 3:30 pm in the Waterway 1-2 location.

The panel will explore the topic of drone security from multiple perspectives: discussing customer concerns, technology options, and how to evaluate the security of your drone operations.

Tuesday, June 13

Keynote: Tuesday offers a keynote by one of the most respected industry analysts in the business. Hendrik Boedecker of Drone Industry Insights (DRONEII) will present Money & Markets: What’s Hot Today & Tomorrow for Robotics/Drones- Analysts Perspective.  The keynote will take place Tuesday, July 13 at 8:30 am in the Waterway 4 location.

The Panel on Drone Docks:

As BVLOS flight gets ever closer, the use of drone docks and remote operations without a human operator on sight are becoming a reality.  A breakout forum featuring representatives from DJI, Flogistix, and Drones Plus will explore increasing energy sector safety and efficiency through drone use. Introducing Drone Docks for Autonomous Missions: Gas Detection, Inspections and Security will be presented on Tuesday, June 13 at 1:45 pm in the Waterway 4 location.

Wednesday, June 14

Keynote: Wednesday kicks off the keynote presentations with a topic we’re always interested in: drone delivery.  Applied to the industrial use cases of the energy sector, drone delivery can offer significant value to stakeholders.  DroneUp’s Anthony Vittone presents Industrial Drone Delivery: Lessons Learned From Retail on Wednesday, June 14 at 8:35 in the Waterway 4 location.

The Panel on Industrial Cargo Delivery:

The delivery theme continues with a discussion on industrial cargo delivery by Don Berchoff ofTruWeather Solutions, Ed De Reyes of Sabrewing, and Dawn Zoldi of P3 Tech Consulting. What’s Next in Uncrewed Cargo: Industrial Drone Delivery & Autonomous Cargo will take place on Wednesday, June 14 at 9:15 am in the Waterway 4 location.
