In order to assist with ongoing relief and rescue efforts in Turkey, NDRF has requested Garuda Aerospace to provide their DGCA approved drones for disaster management operations. Garuda Aerospace will deploy its Droni Drone to conduct surveillance missions in the most heavily impacted areas to locate victims. A modified version of the Kisan Drone will transport payloads of emergency medicines, supplies and food for victims.
“Garuda Aerospace has always stepped up during crises and has created massive impact by deploying drones for various emergency situations,” said Garuda Aerospace Founder and CEO Agnishwar Jayaprakash. “Given the current situation in Turkey, Garuda Aerospace is deploying drones to support the ongoing rescue and relief operations. As a citizen of India, I’m humbled to support the NDRF in times of need.”
Garuda Aerospace has previously deployed drones for rescue and relief operations in response to the Chamoli glacier burst at Uttarakhand, where it played a major role by assisting with the locust control operation in Rajasthan. In partnership with Swiggy, the company also employed emergency drones for the delivery of medicine and vaccinations to hospitals during the pandemic. The company has also helped a mountaineer rappel down a hill and has rescued a trekker. In 2021, Garuda’s White Knight drones delivered medicines and vaccinations in Bengaluru hospitals for ISRO.
Prime Minister Modi simultaneously flagged 100 Kisan drones in 100 villages across India with live tracking, data collection, and processing. Ever since the pandemic, Garuda Aerospace has been NDRF’s preferred drone partner. With 400 drones and more than 500 pilots stationed throughout 84 cities, Garuda Aerospace is prepared to provide aid in a wide range of emergency situations.
The Droni camera drone was initially unveiled at the Global Drone Expo in Chennai by former captain of India’s national cricket team Mahendra Singh, who became the firm’s Brand Ambassador.
