New York-based Nonprofit NUAIR and South Korea-based drone service provider PABLO AIR have signed a memorandum of understanding to aid in the development of regulatory compliant commercial drone solutions for clients in the United States. PABLO AIR will leverage NUAIR’s expertise in advanced commercial drone operations in order to position PABLO AIR systems to meet U.S. business models and practices and comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. PABLO AIR’s contribution to the Central New York uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) community will benefit the local ecosystem as well as contribute to the global success and integration of scalable, economically feasible commercial drone operations.

“PABLO AIR has successfully conducted maritime drone flights at Incheon International Airport, South Korea which integrated both Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) and Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems, a key component in keeping the airways safe,” said Ken Stewart, CEO of NUAIR. “This cross-country collaboration to safely integrate uncrewed aircraft into the national airspace will help unlock the true potential of commercial drone operations.”

“This MOU, held at NUAIR headquarters in Syracuse, New York, is the first local collaboration since last year when we secured exclusive rights with EVA to conduct Proof of Concept (PoC) drone deliveries in New York, discussing various collaboration measures necessary to expand business and R&D in the United States,” said Kim Young-Juun, CEO of PABLO AIR. “We hope to introduce PABLO AIR’s drone ground control system and drone delivery platform in the U.S. as soon as possible for the first time as a Korean company.”

PABLO AIR offers comprehensive solutions for multiple UAS applications, such as package delivery, linear inspection, and public service. The company will focus first on carrying out long-range beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) commercial drone operations in the U.S. market. PABLO AIR is currently working with NUAIR to receive BVLOS permission to conduct high-priority cargo delivery within New York’s 50-Mile Drone Corridor.

NUAIR works alongside like-minded organizations towards the goal of the safe integration of uncrewed aircraft into the national airspace. PABLO AIR is a noteworthy international addition to the NUAIR Alliance, which collaborates on projects that seek to advance the UAS and Advanced Air Mobility industries through standards development, product testing, drone integration, real-life use-case scenarios and more.
