Gremsy on Industrial Gimbals and their Newest Release, the T7 Heavy Lift Gimbal

No drone payload can work well without a gimbal to carry it on the aircraft.  Gremsy, a leader in industrial gimbals, has just released the heavy lift T7 for use in the commercial marketplace.

 Featuring a robust design and powerful motor, Gremsy T7 is the next level of heavy lifting gimbal for industrial applications. It is engineered with a large camera cage for payload up to 7 lbs, making it easy to handle large cameras such as Phase One iMX, Wiris GIS 320, etc.

The T7 comes with the HDMI Hyper Quick Release which allows users to quickly swap among the Gremsy gimbals (T7, T3V3 & S1V3), ensuring the safety when mounting gimbals under the drone. Also, it allows users to mount multiple cameras at once by adding an extra camera slide.

With T7, Gremsy continues to develop an open Software Development kit that will allow users to develop flexible solutions for industrial applications, thus ensuring customers are properly equipped for the job.

 We asked Rosy DUNG Nguyen (Sales & Marketing Manager at Gremsy) about heavy lift gimbals for larger cameras.

“The preferred gimbals in industrial applications are generally as light as possible to give long flight time. However, there are still heavy commercial cameras like Workswell GIS 320, Phase One iXM50/100, Corocam 8 UAV, Specim AFX10/17, and others that need a large but versatile gimbal to carry them. The new T7 will provide inspectors, mappers and other industry experts with a new tool to lift their heavier cameras.”, Rosy told DroneLife.

There are numerous examples of industrial use cases that require a heavy lift gimbal.  “Gas detection is one example,” says Rosy. “It’s still a fairly new application that has very high expectations.  Existing solutions can only detect gas on a single spot – but the GIS320 camera will give a real-time overview of the area and visually show leaks as a black cloud.”

“Of course, stabilization is crucial in this,” Rosy explains. “A blurry image won’t work…. Because it’s a very valuable and heavyweight camera you need a quality heavy lift gimbal such as the T7, which can deliver a highly stable image to better identify the gas leak.”

Gremsy’s T7 supports multiple cameras for customers who need to add more functions to their current setups or handle multi-sensor payloads, Rosy says, offering a large camera cage and a secondary camera slide.
