Going to the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas next week? It’s huge – and covers a variety of different technologies including drones, and the software and infrastructure that support those drones. There will be a little of every technology related thing that you can think of: from TVs to cameras and everything in between.
Their website provides a brief history of CES: “The first CES kicked off in 1967, with 250 exhibitors and 17,500 attendees in New York City. Since then, CES has grown by more than 10-fold and now encompasses both traditional and non-traditional tech industries.”
With a projected 175K attendees, over 4.5K exhibitors, and over 1K speakers – and over 150 companies that categorize themselves as in the drone space – there’s a lot to see. Here are a few highlights that we are looking forward to checking out next week!
As the world’s leading drone manufacturer and imaging solutions supplier founded in 2006, DJI is always exciting to watch. With 18 offices in 7 countries and a sales network covering over 100 countries, the company has a truly global perspective on the industry. With new products and new technology solutions coming out all the time, DJI is sure to have interesting products on display – and an interesting take on bigger topics like UTM, drone integration and remote ID.
FLIR is a DRONELIFE sponsor – and always worth watching in the drone space. Founded in 1978, FLIR Systems is a world-leading industrial technology company focused on intelligent sensing solutions for defense, industrial, and commercial applications. FLIR Systems’ vision is to be “The World’s Sixth Sense,” creating technologies to help professionals make more informed decisions that save lives and livelihoods. With the leading thermal sensors on the market, they’re opening new drone applications all the time in areas that range from roof inspections to search and rescue.
Along with the booths in the exhibit space – try not to get lost – keynotes are by top players in technology, and well-worth checking out.
From the CES Website: This year, Samsung’s CES 2020 keynote “will present the company’s vision for revolutionizing the consumer lifestyle, impacting the way people work, play and connect with each other. Mr. Kim will share Samsung’s role in shaping a new consumer experience for global citizens through its cutting-edge technologies, ultimately leading to positive changes in society.”
Mercedes-Benz will also be up with a show-stopper as Chairman of the Board Ola Källenius “will present a groundbreaking concept car inspired by one of the most innovative entertainment brands, envisioning a completely new form of interaction between humans, technology and nature.”
Delta CEO Ed Bastian will present a CES keynote that “will demonstrate how travel has become an essential part of our lives, and how technology and innovation — combined with the best employees on the planet — will transform the future travel experience for customers across all points of the journey.” Maybe a passenger drone? Who knows! Hope to see you there.
