DroneShield to Provide Anti-drone Products to Saudi Telecom

Saudi Arabia’s largest telecom company is partnering with counter-drone firm DroneShield to protect the country’s infrastructure and assets from rogue UAVs.

Under a new agreement, Saudi Telecom Company’s executive arm, STC Specialized, will team up with DroneShield to bring enhanced drone detection and mitigation to key sectors such as government installations, industrial plants and wireless communication assets.

STC Specialized states its mission is “implementing solutions for critical communications, by aiming at boosting the communication channels between ambulatory and fixed working groups in various business sectors.”

Under a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding, DroneShield will supply its line of anti-drone products including:

STC Specialized will focus on managing Saudi business relationships and providing pre/post-sale customer service, education and support. The company’s customers include Saudi Aramco, the Saudi Ministry of Defence, the General Directorate of Civil Defence, Saudi Airlines, Saudi Electricity Company, Rabigh Refining Company and the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.

DroneShield CEO Oleg Vornik said of the agreement:
