Last Chance to Register for AUVSI’s Hill Day: Speak to Lawmakers About Drone Regulation

September 19 is your last chance to register for AUVSI’s Hill Day: a critical opportunity for the drone community to speak directly to lawmakers.

AUVSI Hill Day and the Science and Tech Fair will take place in Washington, D.C. on September 26.  Participants will have the opportunity to participate in Congressional meetings.

“Every day, members of Congress work on legislation that can have a very real impact on the unmanned systems industry,” says AUVSI. “The annual AUVSI Hill Day educates you on how to be the best advocate for your business and brings you face to face with policymakers affecting change. Hill Day gives you the opportunity to explain the importance of unmanned systems and share how policies will directly affect our industry.”

This is a particularly important time for members of the drone industry to step forward and make their voices heard.  With FAA Reauthorization – and all of the drone related amendments – currently up for discussion in the Senate, critical regulation four the industry is under consideration, and lawmakers have widely differing approaches.  Security concerns raised by the Department of Justice and Homeland Security have raised questions about commercial drone regulation.

AUVSI helps participants to have meaningful conversations with lawmakers by providing briefing material beforehand, and making sure that you are educated on the issues.  In addition, it provides an opportunity to meet others in the drone industry.

As a constituent, your voice matters,” says AUVSI. “They want to hear from people like you – people who work hard each day with these technologies — so that they can do their jobs better for the people who elected them. Be a part of the conversation and help protect unmanned systems across the country.”
