Dronestagram Launches 2017 International Drone Photography Contest

Dronestagram’s annual aerial photography contest has just opened. From now until June 30th, pilots and content creators can enter their best work to be in with a chance of winning industry-wide recognition and a range of photography prizes.

Now in its fourth year, Dronestagram’s International Drone Photography Contest is once again being supported by National Geographic. Previous contests have attempted to show the whole world the potential of drone photography, highlighting beautiful images from landscapes to selfies and urban scenes. The unique perspective offered from above has allowed the contest winners to gain plenty of exposure for their work.

This year’s contest is made up of three categories, Nature, Urban and People. Here are a few previous winners to give you an idea of what you could be competing with.

Who Decides Who Wins?

The 2017 jury will include Patrick Witty, Deputy Director of Photography at National Geographic, Jean-Pierre Vrignaud, Chief Editor of National Geographic France, Emanuela Ascoli, Photo Editor of National Geographic France and Dronestagram’s co-founders Eric Dupin & Guillaume Jarret. The competition will be judged on creativity, photographic quality and respect of each category.

How to Enter

Keen to have your best drone shots considered for the top prizes?

All you have to do is publish your best shots under the following three categories. The links are embedded in the images. There’s no limit to how many images you can submit. Submissions end on June 30th at 3:00 pm GMT. The winners will be announced on July 3rd. The contest is open to pilots and aerial photographers anywhere in the world. Good luck!
