NFL Football? There’s a Drone for That, Too

This Sunday at 8pm EST the NFL Pro Bowl will kick off in Orlando, FL, following the traditional AFC vs. NFC format.  With all of the drama that seems to hover around the sport these days, some fans (and Roger Goodell) have expressed dissatisfaction with the competition – but the NFL has made some efforts to spice up the game.

With a drone, of course.

This year, the event will feature a special “Skills Showdown” which will air tonight on ESPN at 7:00 EST.  The skills showdown will include a relay race in addition to passing and catching competitions.  A proposed dodgeball game caught the fans’ interest when announced last year.  And the NFL has now tweeted that the star of the Skills Showdown will be a drone drop.

According to the NFL tweet, the drone will “fly really high into the air” and drop a football to the players below, who will (presumably) catch it.

While the Pro Bowl may not be the most exciting game played in the next couple of weeks, the Skills Showdown promises to be, at least, entertaining.
