Must Watch: Moose Up Close & Personal With DJI Drone

Moose and aerial photography are not two things you’d normally associate with each other, but it’s actually not a bad combination. That was the discovery made by Norwegian photographer Kolbjørn Hoseth Larssen. Larssen was out shooting (footage) in the wilderness when he encountered a curious moose with his drone. The resulting video has been bouncing around the internet this week.

When drones and animals come together there’s usually some confrontation involved. Does anyone remember the Dutch security company training eagles to take down quadcopters? How about the drone that sets fire to hornets’ nests? Luckily for this moose and what must have been a very surprised pilot, this meeting between drone and wildlife was pretty amicable.

Take a look at the video below to see how things unfolded.

Larssen took the video with a DJI Phantom 3 Professional, and it seems like this particular moose is the latest fan of the Chinese market leader. Instead of running away or attacking this moose is just curious, and tries several times to get closer.

While we don’t advise flying this close to wildlife, the pilot does appear to make an effort to keep the drone out of the moose’s reach. We’d recommend you do the same unless you want to get on the wrong side of your local wildlife.
