A Fresno-based drone services company has landed a contract with AT&T to provide telecommunication tower surveys and data collection for the multinational telecommunications giant.
Montico Inc. CEO Ronald Wingo said his company has been contracted to provide deliverables that detail full tower and compound surveys, HD photo and video documentation of both pre and post site development, 3-D structural modeling, and disaster damage and access assessments.
Wingo said Montico is one of the first companies in the nation to provide drone based, commercial solutions to AT&T.
“We are in a truly exciting period of technological advancement,” he said. “We are able to create solutions that will dramatically enhance the efficiency and accuracy of data collection.”
Although Wingo did not disclose the value of the contract, he did say Montico will be hiring several dozen employees to fill positions for local support, engineering, management and pilots, according to a report in The Fresno Bee.
Monitco is currently negotiating two additional contracts that will require additional local jobs, The Fresno Bee also reported.
