A new video released by the Washington State Dept. of Transportation gives a drone’s eye view of the inside of a huge tunneling operation, offering a perspective that won’t get much better until cars are able to drive through it.

The 4-minute video shows the progress of the double-deck SR99 tunnel, currently under construction in the city of Seattle. The film is captured as “Bertha” – a massive tunneling machine with a nearly 60-foot-diameter cutterhead – takes a pause along its 2-mile journey.

About 1,600 feet of the tunnel has been completed, according to text overlays provided throughout the video, which has no sound.

DOT officials said the drone video was shot in between regular work shifts, so no workers were present during filming.
