Sentera Introduces Fully Customizable Dual 4K Sensor

double_4k_senteraSentera, LLC this week introduced its Double 4K sensor, bringing a small, fully-customizable twin-image sensor to the unmanned aerial vehicle industry with configuration options tailored for use in precision agriculture and infrastructure inspection applications.

Both cameras feature state-of-the-art Sony focal plane arrays and are capable of capturing high-megapixel color stills, near-infrared (NIR) and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) data, and 4K video.

For agriculture applications, a Double 4K allows for production of both NDVI and RGB imagery in a single flight. In inspection applications, the cameras may be configured with narrow and wide field-of-view lenses, eliminating the use of optical zoom systems.

Priced at $2,499 and designed for use in harsh environments, the small, light Double 4K sensor is the next generation of the Sentera Double Sensor. The Double 4K fits the GoPro HERO 4 footprint and is universally compatible with any new or existing fixed-wing or quad-rotor UAV. The Double 4K is available for OEM integration or fully-integrated with a quick-release gimbaled payload designed for the Lockheed Martin Indago 2 UAV.

The Sentera Double 4K sensor exports image and video data in standard formats in real-time via the aircraft datalink, an interval WiFi, or a wired Ethernet connection. Like all Sentera imagers, the Double 4K imagery integrates with Sentera’s AgVault and OnTop software platforms, allowing users to gather, organize, process, and share collected imagery.

“We are excited to bring the sophisticated, versatile, and easy to use Double 4K sensor to our industry partners,” said Eric Taipale, Sentera CEO. “The Double 4K provides a true commercial-grade solution for applications requiring outstanding image quality and precise metadata synchronization.”
