If you are traveling to India and taking your drone, it will be mandatory as of April 1 to declare it when entering the country. In fact, you should probably leave it at home.
The Government of India has modified its custom baggage declaration regulations making it mandatory for people entering India to declare specifically if they are carrying drones.
If you are carrying a drone in, you will need to mark “Yes” on the declaration form and then see a customs officer who will determine whether or not it is eligible for entry.
Don’t get your hopes up.
It should be noted that there is no reason to take a drone to India because they essentially prohibit civilians from flying them.
According to UAV Systems International:
Drones in India have been banned since October 2014, regardless of their use. India is currently in the process of creating extensive regulations covering the use of drones in India. Until regulations are created, civil operation of drones will require approval from the Air navigation service provider, defense, ministry of home affairs, and other concerned security agencies within India.
