Here is another idea that was inevitable. Heiko Appenrodt, a German businessman living in Moscow/Russia, linked up with Kai Weller, a student of Mechatronics in the city of Esslingen, Germany to create dronetheworld.com.
He built the site almost overnight to see what the reaction in the Drone-community would be. The core feature is a browsable earth map displaying locations of all videos posted.
The feedback was sufficient to build a more professional, better designed site. Once built, selected drone videographers were invited to test the beta-version. The word spread quickly. Encouraged the team went live on the 19th February 2016.
Within three days, over a hundred videos were posted, and the site received over a thousand visits.
According to Heiko, the future of this site looks bright. Currently a non-profit project, there may be an effort to go commercial. You can view the site map and drone videos here.
