The topic of drones will take center stage Monday night in Ferndale. It’s on the agenda for the city’s council meeting.
7 Action News has learned the proposal being raised would ban the use of drones in the community altogether. The fear is the drones, which are gaining in popularity, can be intrusive on privacy and be a cause for worry. The greatest fear is what happens if one malfunctions or goes down unexpectedly in a densely populated community like Ferndale.
Drones are becoming increasingly accessible to people willing to spend big bucks to buy them.
City leaders in Ferndale want their voters to know they are taking the safety and privacy of their community seriously and are willing to draw the line.
We’ve learned that one council member wants to allow drone use with a permit.
Again, the discussion will happen Monday night inside Ferndale City Hall’s council chambers. It’s expected to spark conversation and debate.
