CyPhy Works Contracted To Aid Search And Rescue Efforts With UAVs

CyPhy Works, a leading robotics company for UAVs was awarded a contract by the US Air Force to help advance current search and rescue procedures.

CyPhy’s new contract will fund the implementation of the Extreme Access Pocket Flyer, a drone capable of inspecting small tunnels and passages obstructed by debris, which is currently a limiting factor for search and rescue missions.

Not only will this new technology help surpass physical limitations, but also ensure the safety of search and rescue ground crews, whose lives are constantly threatened by Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs.)

“The market potential is one for every soldier, marine, police officer, swat team member, and many other jobs that expose people to danger,” said Matt England, CyPhy Works Vice President of Government Systems.

CyPhy’s obtainment of this contract marks a huge step forward for government employment of UAVs, and will aid operations for communities like FEMA, Pararescue, and Special Forces.

This technology not only has the ability to propel search and rescue missions towards the future, but also to save lives in the process.
