Sunday was 4/20 or, as citizens of Colorado now call it, “Stick it to the Man Day.” Denver’s Civic Center Park played host to a 4/20 rally on Sunday in which marijuana enthusiasts turned out in droves to exercise their right to ‘kiss the sky.’ Two UAS hobbyists took it upon themselves to catalogue the event with their UAV.
However, once police spotted the drone, the operators were promptly asked to cease and desist. They two men were very cooperative so there was no negative fallout; no arrests were made. There wasn’t even an incident report filed.
And rightly so, as they were not breaking any laws on the state or federal level. Of course, this hasn’t stopped the FAA from “looking into the incident.”
