This passed February, VIRES Aeronautics announced a $1 million Series AA of funding from Draper Associates, Lemnos Labs, Vegas Tech Fund, Promus Ventures, Lance White, Don Hutchison, and Toivo Annus.
The Livermore, CA based company is the marquee company for UAV wing design. VIRES’ patented Aquila Technology allows for faster takeoff and landing, increased payload capacity, improved maneuverability, extended range, and reduced fuel consumption.
“This is the first true innovation in aviation since the jet engine,” Tim Draper, Partner at Draper Associates, said in the press release.
