The Daily Mail is reporting today that a British Airways flight struck an object believed to be a drone as it approached Heathrow Airport. The Daily Mail reports:
British Airways confirmed to MailOnline that flight BA727 from Geneva in Switzerland was struck as it made its final approach over London with 132 passengers and five crew on board.
Following the incident, a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) spokesman said it was ‘totally unacceptable’ to fly drones close to airports, and anyone flouting the rules can face ‘severe penalties, including imprisonment’.
