This video by John Evans is another testament to both the impressive capabilities of modern aerial cinematography and the amazing world we live in.
From Sunderlandecho.com:
His work is beginning to gather a following on YouTube.
Scenes hovering above the Angel of the North, sweeping views over and under the Wearmouth Bridge, to the soaring sites over Souter Lighthouse and Marsden beach are among those put together so far.
Ryhope pumping station, Hendon’s coastline and Hylton Castle are also among some the other Wearside spots featured, while he was given permission to film over Durham Cathedral, a Unesco World Heritage Site.
He was also allowed access to the rooftop of the flats neighbouring the Winter Gardens in Sunderland as a start and finish point for footage of the museum and Mowbray Park, with the skyline of Sunderland city centre taking in the piers to the Stadium of Light.
He can monitor the drone camera via a hand-held screen so he can see as he manoeuvres around his subject.
