17-Year-Old reddit user mon7gomery posted this video yesterday evening on r/videos. The footage was shot off the coast of North Cornwall, England during sunset with a TBS Discovery Pro and a GoPro Hero 3+.
In his post, mon7gomery said “there’s no denying it’s an expensive hobby, but I hope to recover some of the cost in the future by selling footage and services. Since I started, there’s been an explosion of interest in this market, and with the release of ready-to-fly products such as DJI’s Phantom it’s becoming more accessible to the masses.”
The masses may be able to access drone tech, but not everyone has an eye for cinematography like this kid does.
The video is overlaid with Hans Zimmer’s “Time” from the movie Inception and it will at the very least make you feel like you should be outside; especially now that we have officially made it through one of the worst winters in recent memory.
And, intentional or not, the video is a subtle juxtaposition of the opening shot of the 2010 blockbuster, which featured crashing waves at sunrise overlaid with Zimmer’s now iconic score. Well done mon7gomery.
