The UK publication, the ENGINEER reports that Bristol University’s Dr. James MacFarlane has been awarded funding to build a drone to monitor nuclear disaster sites such as Fukushima. MacFarlane believes that his drone can more accurately report on radiation levels at a site than current ground-based or helicopter-based technologies. “With our system you could have flown across the site and worked out where the radiation was actually coming from.”
